New endeavor

I am going to try my hand at wedding videos. I have red all I possible can about it and I am confident I can make a go of it. I have a friend who is going to help me get my first gig at a local wedding she is shooting photography for, then hopefully after I have 2-3 under my belt I can start charging a normal rate. I am still going to keep making internet commercials and I am thinking about extending my services to local businesses. everything is going well so far hopefully the business will take off and I can quit my job so I can do video full time.

baby steps

Well I have been taking baby steps in learning video FX I honestly love working with video and the freedom I have with todays technology. Its also frustrating when I cannot figure something out, I have found an "invaluable" (meaning I could never put a price on its worth.) website www.creativecow.com this site has taught me some really cool effects and I am picking up visual FX little by little... here is a demo video of some of the FX I have been practicing with, keep in mind these are not finished projects but rather a sketch pad filled with doodles to give you an idea of what I have been working on. enjoy!

No new assignments

Currently there are no new assignments on poptent =( but I am taking a short film making class at my local library. I havnt been doing much with video lately I'm kind of bored but I hope I get some new assignments soon. For those who don't know I was filming for the UW extension office, The SBDC was hosting a business class and asked if I would film. Well about 24hrs of shooting later and the class is done. All that is left to do is convert the material into a usable format, It's times like these I miss having more then one computer (because converting takes about 20hrs per session, and I cannot use my laptop in that time due to lack of power). Today I am going to do a major rework of my social sites and maybe redo my bio video, the one I have now is terrible and out of sync. Well I am going to get started on my sites so best of luck on all your projects, Justin

Flappy Dog Toy's

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to update on what I am working on. I am currently making a commercial for flappy dog toys. I am excited for this project and I already have my storyboard and everything. I cant wait to get my sample in the mail and start filming. I still have to setup some filming time with some of my friends and their dogs. I would release some of my content but this is a competition and I feel it would be better to wait till after submission before I release any of my current work.

OurPet's Company is introducing a great new line of dog toys – Flappy Dog Toys. "We make 'em for dogs to shake 'em"

The company is looking for creative, clever, and hip videos that help consumers associate Flappy dog toys with fun. They want ads that will stimulate demand and create trial for the brand.

They're guaranteeing each of the producers of the top three videos $2,000 plus $250 worth of OurPet's pet products.

Not much to update

Hey this is Justin,
There really isn't much to update on but here's what's been happening. I have been working with Becca and our ideas are developing but we had a major setback when her idea/story notebook was stolen at camp but we are still developing, the project is moving slower than expected but I think we can still make it happen. My work on my parents Africa DVD is coming along nicely but also moving slower than hoped for (mostly my fault for being lazy) I have several Videos for the DVD and I am getting all my materiel together but I need to start finishing some of the videos for the project. I have been working allot at Pizza Pub but I am glad for the extra money because I will be buying my first car. Spring is trying to break through and it is really wet outside here but its nice that it's not as cold here I will be glad for the warm weather this winter has been hard, I'm getting ready for Africa as best I can and I am really excited to go hopefully this summer.

New video in the works

Hey this is an update to let you know about my newest project (unnamed, that's how new it is) I will be co-authoring a new movie with my good friend Becca Illick, Its kind of funny how I got involved because you know how when you hear a conversation and your not technically invited but you somehow manage to find a way in? well that's pretty much how this whole thing got started I worked my way in a conversation and we decided to work together on this new film. I will be posting little sneak peaks and things just to build hype while we are filming and I will also be posting once in a while to give updates asto how things are going on/off set. I'm not sure how much I can share about it yet through so for now its going to be pretty vague (considering it hasn't even been written or story boarded yet). From what I gathered from our conversation it will be set in the middle ages possibly fantasy such as lotr but it could also have some comedy to it. as I said we have not written a plot or anything and this maybe a smaller project than I am thinking but in any case its a chance to use my new camcorder and have some fun. check back soon
